Arrival in Puerto Maldonado (Capital of Biodiversity of Peru)
Reception at the airport or bus station and transfer to the Amazon Lodge Monte office for records.
Transfer to the port captaincy where we take the boat for an hour, to welcome our -Meeting hostel with a refreshing juice from fruit of our region. Installation in our respective rooms.
After a rest, you will have an introduction a walk for two hours in the dense tropical forest, guided by an expert local guide who will take you through our trails and you can see a variety of trees that can have more than five hundred years, so , you will see some species of wild animals such as toucans, orioles, macaws, monkeys, snakes, butterflies, etc. You will have the opportunity to experience the magic of our Amazon jungle that is within the Tambopata National Reserve (278,000 thousand protected hectares).
After lunch, we visit the “Monkey Island”, located in front of our lodge across the Madre de Dios River where we will find different species as the family of capuchin monkey monk living on the island and return to the lodge.
At night we will go in search of white alligators usually found on sandbars in the Madre de Dios River which will need to bring a flashlight. Also, we see the capybara the world’s largest rodent that can weigh 60 kilos, return to alberge, dinner and rest.
After breakfast we will walk 3 km. In the midst of the dense tropical jungle and headed to Lake Sandoval (piranha habitat) one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve and we will walk in rowboat where we will appreciate variety birds and monkeys of different species (shansho, cormorant, jacana, puma heron, vultures, howler
monkey, monkey monk, black capuchin, tamarins and sloths). Maybe we will have a meeting with the family of giant otters (almost two meters long) that is endangered and the largest alligators registered more than 4 meters long, return to the lodge to enjoy a typical lunch.
At night we will walk where we can appreciate the diversity of species of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal animals. – Dinner and rest
5.30a.m. in the morning we will make a short walk through the Canopy Walk-Way, about 30 meters high, allowing us to appreciate nature from as high as possible, also have a panoramic view of the Rio Madre de Dios. From platforms observe different species of birds, including toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles, will be a wonderful experience.
After breakfast we prepare for an activity of challenges over the trees over 30 meters high, for this activity we will have an instructor guide, who will give a talk on how to use the safety harness to the Zip-line, feeling the adrenaline glide through the trees return to Lodge.- Lunch and rest.
In the afternoon the challenge is to cross the Madre de Dios River kayak, along the way we can appreciate the fascinating sunset.
